Gone like a freight train
Vegas with the DH was AWESOME! The first day I actually got buzzed on vodka & cranberry juice. =) The DH got a streak of good luck and we came home with some cash in our pockets. Woohoo!
Took an awesome ride on the bike today. Went to one of the local dealers looking for a mask - something like this....
I think these are pretty cool. Whenever I see a fellow brother riding along with one of these on it makes me smile. However, I'm having a helluva time finding something different - something a little more feminine and not so common.

Does it get any friggin better??????????????????
I picked up a small side job (if you can call it that). The cafe we frequent is getting a makeover of sorts and I've been asked to sew the curtains. Kind of cool... I'm looking forward to that challenge. I'm going to use a sewing machine!
The DH has been having a string of migraines lately and of course, we have no idea what is triggering them. All I know is they hurt and make him miserable.
I'm going to apply for a grant as a not-for-profit horse and burro rescue. With the state of the economy many horse and burro owners have been forced to give up their animals and shelters are being over run. I figure if I could get the grant to fund approximately 2-3 animals that would work out well for me and the animals. Wish me luck.
SONG OF THE BLOG: "Somethin In Your Mouth" by Nickelback. I don't think this song has to be explained. It's just one of those nasty songs you love to hear when you are feeling, well, nasty! Us bikers feel nasty a lot! =)

And it's still coming down
And the rain seems to be the big topic! We need it so badly and I love it so I am not complaining, however I know some of you don't like driving in it and then there are those drastic cases out there of mudslides and such. So I am praying for moderation. Hey, it cut into my bike rental time so I'm hurt too by this rain. And if that's not bad enough guess what next Sunday looks like?? Yep, rain. Ah... Something or someone doesn't want me renting a bike on a Sunday. Foiled again! But not for long and not forever!
I finished another set of dishcloths/washcloths last night. Love this particular set as it's in earthy tones (brown, beige, cream, white...). Haven't had a sale in awhile. Was hoping to spur some interest or enthusiasm with some new cloths, but so far no luck. I am still working on the 3 blankets. It's a slow steady process for me. I like the methodical work. Keeps me grounded. With luck I will finish up the girls yellow purse today and get it posted on Etsy. Maybe I'll have better luck in that direction?
Here is the next craft blog: The Sister's Studio
And it appears as if life is coming full circle! Sooner than I expected, but I'm not going to complain! You might recall how the DH's ex suddenly became best friends with his parents. Well, recently they sent her an email saying how they are so happy she turned her life around and is on the right track. She didn't like this - asking our daughter what was so wrong with me and the way I lived my life before?? LOLOLOLOLOL Maybe now she is getting it?????

Oh sure! So this is how he will pay for everything!
OK, done.
We got a ton of rain. Thank God. Although when we do get it, we get way too much of it. Why can't it be spread out over three months rather than 3 days? Well, I suppose if it did we wouldn't be in SoCal, right? Regardless I have thoroughly enjoyed the weather. Nothing nicer than sitting in my craft room with the window open listening to the falling rain. So relaxing!
Want to hear something completely random? Yesterday I get a text message from an unknown number. It just said "HI" so I thought maybe it was someone's number I know but just didn't recognize. I said "HI" back and immediately got another response apologizing for sending that text by accident. As it turns out this young man is new to the area and got numbers mixed up. Long story short, he is a 22 year old Med student from Spain. We started chatting about stuff and when he found out we have a 22 year old daughter, the conversation turned. He and our daughter exchanged some texts and ended up striking up a text message friendship. He works with special needs kids, too - just like she does. How's that for random?
The DH and I are heading to the swap meet today in LE. Looking forward to it and hoping to find some neat stuff!
On a craft note - I finished another set of cloths and posted them yesterday on Etsy. I am finally tapping into my stash of wonderful cotton yarns and playing with colors. I feel like being a bit brave and maybe combining colors that aren't so safe, if you catch my drift. I am still working on 3 blankets and 1 purse. They are all coming along nicely, albeit slowly. Here is the next Etsy shop to check out from the California Team... Lori Delisle. Check out her blog and shop! And don't forget to keep checking out the other shops under "Cool Peeps". Thanks!!!

Cotton and Work
First of all, Tyrone Wells kicks ass. I bought two of his CD's (Hold On and Remain) and they haven't left my CD player since I got home on Saturday. I can't decide which is my favorite song...but "Need" is one I love to hear and "Fallling" is a very close second. Thanks Mama for finally getting me out to see him.
Second - rain. According to the Weather Channel and OWSWeather.com (thanks Audio), the rain should be gone for my Sunday rental. =) I have been so excited about this that I can't think about much else. I keep going through in my head everything I learned in the course and as I'm driving my truck I pretend I'm on the Dyna and what I would be doing (downshifting, leaning, etc.).
Third: I mentioned in my last post how I am now part of the CCCOE Team. We have a Yahoo! Group and there have been some really cool peeps on there. I have learned about so many craft shows all over the Southern California area that I never knew existed. I hope to actually participate in one soon. Wish me luck! One that note, check out the newest addition to Cool Peeps - My Dear Darling.
Continuing with the craft notes... I splurged today and bought some cotton yarns for more cloths. I took a chance and dropped in to the Daily Fiber shop and although they were pricey, found some pretty neat colors I've not come across before. Afterwards I zipped over to JoAnn's and stocked up. The cloths aren't exactly flying off my shelves, but every once in awhile I sell a set. They are fun and I have gotten some great feedback from buyers.
The DH and I are planning a trip to Vegas Feb 25-27. We'll be at the Rio. Comp'd rooms. =) Bring on the hotel lovin! Woohoo!
Oh yeah, lastly - I did post my resume out on Monster and CareerBuilder. *sigh* All good things must come to an end and my hiatus has just about run it's course. Like Angelina Jolie takes time off from birthin babies to make a movie, I too must return to the work force.
